Dallas rentals with an outdoor pool: how to pick

Outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers at a residential building in Dallas, Texas, on a clear summer afternoon

Yes. We have several furnished homes in Dallas whose listings include an outdoor pool, and they fall into two camps: a cluster up near Galleria Dallas in the far north of the city, and a downtown pair where the pool sits on the roof with the skyline around it. Almost all of them are one-bedroom apartments that sleep three or four, which tells you something about who swims in Dallas in August: couples, small families, and people here for weeks rather than nights.

The important distinction before you book anything: these pools belong to the buildings, not to the apartments. You get private access to an entire furnished unit, plus a key fob or code for the shared pool, gym and outdoor areas that the residents use. That is a different proposition from a private backyard pool in Lakewood or Oak Cliff, and for most of the people asking this question it's the better one, because it comes attached to free parking, a fitness center and a desk that works.

North Dallas, by the Galleria, where the pool cluster is

Four of our pool homes sit in the Far North Dallas and Galleria pocket, and if you're in town for work in Addison or shopping at the mall, that's where to look first.

1BR / Sleeps 3 - Luxury Pool, Mall, Parking is a king suite with a resort-style pool and grill area downstairs, a rooftop amenity deck, a business center and EV chargers in the garage. It takes dogs under 80 lbs with prior approval, which matters if you're relocating rather than visiting. It's the one I'd point a travel nurse or a six-week contractor toward.

Retreat Near Galleria| Pool | Gym | Free Parking has the better outdoor setup for anyone who wants to eat outside rather than just swim: the building keeps an outdoor kitchen with a grill and dining pavilion alongside the pool and sun loungers, plus a rooftop terrace. Inside, a king bed, a workspace and, usefully, a crib, high chair and pack-n-play if you're traveling with a baby. The mall is a fifteen-minute walk or a four-minute drive, and the Addison business district is under ten minutes by car.

King 1BR/1BA | Pool+ Parking | 5 min to Galleria is a loft-style apartment, also walkable to the Galleria, with a pool, gym, free parking spot and a workspace. Its listing is leaner than the others, which is worth knowing: if a specific kitchen item or baby gear decides your trip, ask us rather than assume.

Luxury, 1BR, Galleria Dallas, Pool+Patio sleeps four and was renovated, with hardwood floors and a proper cook's kitchen, and the pool is downstairs. It's the North Dallas option that feels least like corporate housing.

Downtown, where the pool is on the roof

If you want to walk out the door into the city rather than drive to it, downtown is the trade. 2bed•2bath Heart of Downtown w/Panoramic Views is our only two-bedroom, two-bath Dallas home with an outdoor pool on the listing, and the pool is an infinity-style cocktail pool with a waterfall and soaking deck on the roof, with grilling stations and lounge seating alongside it. There's a 32nd-floor sky lounge, a community pool table, a gym, and a balcony on the apartment itself. Four people, two bathrooms, skyline from every room.

Two honest caveats. Parking here is paid, not free, unlike the North Dallas homes. And the building is pet friendly with breed restrictions, so clear your dog with us before you book.

Its near-twin, Scenic Views•FreeParking•8min to American Airlines, is the same two-bed, two-bath downtown format with a pool and gym, and the name tells you what it's good for: arena nights. Luxe Apt W/Parking CityView|Pool|Gym|PoolTable gives you the rooftop pool and the panoramic view in a one-bedroom that sleeps four.

From downtown, Klyde Warren Park is the five-acre deck park built over the sunken freeway, stitching the Arts District to Uptown, and it's the easiest thing to walk to on a first evening. Deep Ellum is just under a mile east, under ten minutes on the tram. Bishop Arts, in Oak Cliff, is a short drive southwest, call it ten to fifteen minutes.

Midtown and the Medical District

Luxury 1BR | Midtown Dallas | Pool, Gym, Free Park is the one I recommend most often to remote workers, and the reason is the building rather than the view: pool with cabanas, a 24/7 gym, co-working spaces and a lounge, plus a reserved space in a secure garage. The apartment has a queen bed, a sofa bed for two more, an ergonomic chair at the desk, and a balcony. Whole Foods is about three minutes away, Love Field about twelve, the Medical District about ten.

Two more homes sit near Love Field with a pool and gym on the listing. Private Rooftop Terrace|Sleeps 3|Love Field|Gym has a furnished rooftop terrace that is yours rather than shared, which is rare in this portfolio and worth the detour if you want to drink coffee outside without riding an elevator to a resident deck. Lovefield airport nearby|Patio|Gym has a private balcony and a wine fridge in the same light-filled layout.

For anyone whose trip runs through the hospitals, 1Br nr Downtown/MedCtr FreePrKg/FastWiFi/Pool/Gym pairs free gated parking with a pool, a gym and a king bed, and 1Bd near Downtown/Airport*with Pool/Gym/Parking adds a game room to the same amenity set.

Picking by who's coming

  • A couple, a few nights, pool and shopping: the Galleria homes. Walk to the mall, swim in the afternoon, drive twenty minutes downtown when you want a museum.
  • Two adults and a small child: the Galleria retreat, for the crib and high chair, or the Midtown suite, which also keeps a crib and high chair and has the sofa bed.
  • Four people who want their own bathrooms: the downtown two-bed with the rooftop pool. It's the only configuration in this group that gives two bedrooms, two baths and a pool.
  • A month or more of remote work: Midtown, for the co-working rooms and the garage space. Long-term stays are allowed on all of these.
  • Bringing a dog: the North Dallas king suite near the Galleria (under 80 lbs, approval first, pet fee applies) or the downtown two-bed, subject to building breed rules.

One more worth naming even though it has no pool: Stylish 2BR Near Uptown & Medical District sleeps six, more than anything in the pool group. If the group size matters more than the swim, start there instead and I'd rather tell you that now.

What to confirm before you put down a date

Pools attached to residential buildings behave like residential amenities. They close for maintenance, for repairs, sometimes at short notice, and the buildings don't owe guests a heads-up. Ask us about the pool for your exact dates and we'll check the building's status rather than repeat the listing back to you. Same goes for whether a particular pool is heated and how it's run in winter, which varies building to building.

Three other things catch people out:

  • Guest verification. Several of these buildings require the booking guest to complete a background screening before check-in details are released. It takes minutes, but start it when you book, not the morning you fly.
  • Parking. Free and reserved at most of the North Dallas and Midtown homes; paid at the downtown two-bed. Vehicles usually have to be registered in advance, and extra cars need their own arrangement.
  • House rules. These are buildings with full-time residents. Quiet hours are enforced, parties are not permitted, and smoking carries a fee.

Booking direct

Tell us the dates, the headcount, whether a dog is coming, and whether the pool is the point of the trip or a nice-to-have. We'll come back with what's actually open, confirm the building amenity status, and handle the screening paperwork. Book direct with us and there are no middlemen or platform fees in between. Personal hosts, professional stays, short visits and long ones alike.
